Please join us for a walk - you are welcome to complete 2 activities before you join our Club.
The table below lists 4 weeks of activities. If you would like to join any activity, press the Register button to automatically send an email to the leader.
Even if the activity is full, you can still request to join - the leader can add you to the waiting list. Should a vacancy occur, you will receive a phone call from the leader and a confirming email.
Categories are described here. The leader will assess if the walk is suitable for you and may suggest a different level of walk.
All participants are required to be at the start of the activity AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE STATED START TIME FOR A BRIEFING. This also ensures that the activity starts on time. If you need to cancel or are unexpectedly delayed, please advise the leader as soon as possible. Our leaders are not expected to wait for latecomers.
Prepare for your walk – Our Requirements
For a day walk your clothing and equipment should be suitable for the weather and the terrain likely to be encountered. Check with the leader before you walk.
- Wear comfortable, enclosed walking or sports shoes. Normal shoes, sandals or thongs are not suitable bushwalking footwear.
- Clothes should be comfortable, light, and loose fitting. Bring 3 or 4 layers of clothing that you can take-off if you get warm or put on if cold. Denim or cotton clothing is not suitable.
- A rain jacket, a sunhat or in winter a beanie and gloves to allow for weather changes.
- A back pack, with room for food, water, essentials, and any clothing you are not wearing. Optional walking poles.
- 1-2 litres of water is required - more in warm weather. Check with the leader.
- Your own lunch and snacks, optional warm drink, and something to sit on – mat/stool. All food, wrappers, tissues, and toilet paper must be carried out with you.
- A small first aid kit, personal medication, insect repellent and sun block.
- The completed M6 Personal Emergency Information should be placed in a readily accessible pocket of your pack.
- Cash and cards for emergencies, coffee after the activity and 'petrol money' if car-pooling is offered. MBWC uses a public online calculator to determine the cost. Please carry the correct cash if carpooling. A MYKI card may be advised for some activities.
- A change of shoes if car-pooling.
- For other activities – bike rides/paddles/backpacking - your leader will provide a list of requirements.
