Meet at Lilydale tennis courts at 7.15 for 7.30 departure, or at Black Spur Inn at 8.15.  Please advise when booking.  This is a delightful walk in the forest on wide forest tracks.  Most of the walk will be shady.  There is one longish climb of m ascent over about 1km before morning tea, and one after lunch, but otherwise the walk is gently undulating.  There is a side trip of about 1.8km return to the summit (or as close as we can get) of Mt Dom Dom after morning tea.  This affords spectacular views over the Yarra Ranges including Mt Juliet and Maroondah Reservoir.  However if it is raining or foggy we will not do this side trip, as it is quite steep and slippery, with some off track, and there would be no view at the top.  In this case it would be an M1 walk and the distance would be approx 16.7km.  Total ascent with side trip is m.  Refreshments after the walk will be at Black Spur Inn (which is not open on Wednesdays - hence this Friday walk!).  Driving distance Lilydale to walk start is 43.7km.  Please note this walk will be repeated on a Sunday in December.
