Pleasant walk around the far eastern section of Sugarloaf Dam. It will take in Mt Graham and a trig point knoll with great views of the Yarra Valley, Christmas Hills & Healesville areas, and Mt St Leonard. There are also many inlets off the Chris Phillips Walking Track with views across the reservoir. There will be 2 easyish off-track climbs through light bush. Ample water/electrolytes with hat & sunscreen are mandatory whilst gaiters and trekking poles are suggested and at least one snake bandage should be carried. To avoid traffic, meet at Stiggants Reserve car park, Stiggant Street, Warrandyte (Melways 23 C12) at 7.50 am for a 8.00 am car pool departure. Cars : Saddle Dam picnic area at far southern end of Sugarloaf Reservoir (Melways E8) - approach via Simpson Rd, Christmas Hills and note that there is a slim chance that the park gate may not be opened until 8.30 am. Online bookings are preferred.
