Steiglitz and Brisbane Ranges ghost area walk

Full of history, this fascinating Brisbane Ranges National Park circuit features a lesser-known corner of the park and the Steiglitz Historic Park. No longer a bustling area, it has a fascinating gold mining history, unique trees and plants (eg. xanthorrhoea or grass trees), deep gullies and the tranquil Sutherland Creek. The walk lies about 95 km SW of Melbourne and is mostly on good, flattish foot and management tracks throughout (with only one off-track section). Care is needed at times so trekking pole(s) are recommended.

Meet near Pony Club entrance and small car park on Mullum Mullum Creek (Buck Reserve), Reynolds Road, Donvale (Melways 34 H7) at 7.45 am for a 8.00 am car pool start.

Walk finish will be about 3.30 pm (with arrival back at Donvale by about 5.15 pm).

Those driving direct to the start can meet at the Steiglitz Court House car park at 9.15 am. Please advise Randall if driving direct (and if you have passengers). Online Bookings are preferred.
